Learn for Real in Dudley, Postponed

Join other CQ Members, supporters and guests at Sycamore Adventure in Dudley for ‘Learn for Real’ – a series of peer learning events looking at our members’ outstanding practice and experience.

Sycamore Adventure is a successful social enterprise and an award-winning adventure playground situated in an area of significant deprivation in North Dudley.  More than 20,000 children, many from vulnerable groups, use the free, all-inclusive indoor and outdoor play facilities at Sycamore’s Old Park Farm site each year.  It is a space where play is prioritised and children can be free; an adventure playground where playworkers advocate children’s right to play; and an inclusive environment which is open to children with additional needs.  Sycamore Adventure has won no less than nine awards including the Outstanding Playwork Provision category of the national Playwork Awards 2018 for ‘putting children at the heart of everything they do’.  In addition to sessions at the Old Farm Park site, Sycamore’s team of staff and volunteers run Dudley Play Week, when thousands of children come to play in sessions structured by the team in local parks and green spaces.

This Learn for Real session offers participants the chance to learn from the experience and approach at Sycamore Adventure; the successful voluntary/statutory partnerships that underpin them; and to share their own reflections on it.
