Autism Awareness

Children’s Quarter offers training in Autism Awareness for staff and volunteers delivering services to children and young people.

A 3 hour introduction with trainers from Resources for Autism. Participants will:
•  Understand what autism is and how it can impact daily life
•  Gain increased confidence in working communicating and interacting with autistic people
•  Have perceptions of autism challenged
•  Learn how to implement autism specific strategies into daily practice.

Training will include theory and practical case studies focusing on: Communication; Social interaction; Sensory differences; Flexibility and routine; How you can help.

Friday 27 January at Birmingham Association of Youth Clubs, 581 Pershore Rd, Birmingham B29 7EL
