The Children’s Quarter company Annual General Meeting takes place at 10am on Friday 10 May 2019 in the Deloitte Room at Midlands Arts Centre, Edgbaston B12 9QH. The formal business for members is to consider the accounts and directors’ report; elect directors to serve for the year ahead; agree audit arrangements; and consider any resolutions put forward by members. After the formal business has been done, we have guest speakers: Janice Connolly (aka Barbara Nice), Richard Hayhow of Open Theatre and Melissa Daly of Birmingham Rep; and Jack Dromey MP for Erdington and Shadow Minister for Work and Pensions. Members are very welcome to bring colleagues and guests to the AGM – Book AGM Places.
Member organisations can: nominate someone to serve as a director of the coop (and write one or two paragraphs in support of their nomination, which can be circulated to members; and submit resolutions on any aspect of the cooperative’s business, by emailling Sherri at Children’s Quarter. The deadline for receipt of nominations and resolutions is noon on Thursday 25 April.
A full agenda including copies of reports and accounts; details of those nominated and up for election as directors; and details of any resolutions duly submitted by members will be emailed to members along with proxy nomination forms (naming a representative you want to vote on your account at the meeting) before Friday 26 April.
Don’t forget, there is a training session How the Co-op Works on Tuesday 16 April 6-7.30pm at All Saints Centre, 2 Vicarage Road, Kings Heath B14 7RA which is particularly aimed at members and supporters who want to understand and participate more fully in the cooperative.
