Welcoming New Members!

Warm welcomes to new members joining the Children’s Quarter co-operative this month: Highbury Orchard Community, the Inclusive Sports Academy CIC; and Charlotte Slater of Urban Heard CIC.

Highbury Orchard Community is a community interest company which aims to bring people into contact with Nature through projects, including Forest School, working together and underpinned by Permaculture principles.  They are based on the Highbury Estate which used to belong to Birmingham’s Joe Chamberlain and is one of the larger areas of green space in south Birmingham.  The Community runs the orchard partly as a volunteer project, and partly as a service activity for specific groups, including woodland play activities for children; and the Forest School with adults, particularly those with mental health, wellbeing, or recovery interests.
