The Forge is a cooperative service for disabled young adults under 30. It aims to expand access to opportunities and help broaden the local landscape.
Based at the Factory Young People’s Centre in Longbridge, the service runs on Mondays from 13 Jan – 3 Feb at 10am – 1pm.
The Forge is supported by Birmingham City Council’s Northfield Neighbourhood Network Scheme and gives priority to Northfield residents. Sessions cost £10. The Forge is made by cooperation between Carolina House, Parks for Play, Dens of Equality and Children’s Quarter.
At Norton Hall in Saltley 17 Jan and Moseley Community Hub 15 Feb
These half-day courses are for staff and volunteers in groups working with children and young people. After attending the course, you will:
• Understand what autism is (and isn’t) and how it can impact daily life
• Have increased confidence in working, communicating and interacting with autistic people
• Be able to implement autism specific strategies into how you work or volunteer.
