Admission to fun football sessions which include children and young people with additional needs is free in Kings Heath Park this summer thanks to Football Fun-atics. They are supported by Happy Healthy Holidays and – with Children’s Quarter – helping to ensure Birmingham’s healthy exercise and eating program for children and young people is accessible for ALL.
The sessions run on Saturdays from 20 July to 17 August inclusive from 10am – noon meeting at the Tennis Courts in Kings Heath Park. They mix playwork with coaching to get better results in a positive environment and are followed by hot meals for participants and family picnics. Football Fun-atics has more than 13 years experience catering for girls and boys from 5+ and uses coaches who are DBS approved and playwork and FA qualified.
Happy Healthy Holidays is a physical activity and healthy eating program funded by Department of Education and the program is run in Birmingham by Sports Birmingham, Accord Group and The Active Wellbeing Society. The Children’s Quarter cooperative has worked with them to create opportunities for children and young people with additional needs to be included.
